A Brisbane startup hoping to unleash the unrealised productivity gains of workplace artificial intelligence has raised $2.3 million in pre-Seed funding to help people refine ideas and inspiration using AI.
The round for Enhance Labs was led by Blackbird Ventures with support from QIC Ventures.
Enhance was cofounded by former Amazon engineer Haziq Nordin, former Google designer, and second-time founder Mike Keating, born of their own frustration with AI tools that promised efficiency but deliver generic outputs requiring extensive human revision.
Enhance is a voice-first collaboration platform that amplifies human thinking rather than replacing it.
The startup already has early adopters at Amazon, Canva, Microsoft, and as well as several startups, with users report feeling energised by the freedom to think out loud whenever inspiration strikes, transforming those moments into productive thinking time via AI prompts.
Users talk through ideas in their raw, unfiltered form while the platform asks probing questions that push their thinking further. These insights become shared artefacts that collaborators can build upon through the same thoughtful process. What emerges is collective reasoning, captured and refined through conversation.
Nordin, the CTO, believes that Enhance the problem of generic AI outputs which he describes as “AI slop”.
“We’ve learned that the most valuable work still requires human insight,” he said.
“We’re not replacing that insight. We’re making it easier to capture, refine and share.”
Head, the CDO says initial responses from early users hint at something much bigger.
“We’re building the last mile of superintelligence, where increasingly powerful models meet human insight” he said.
“Voice is just our starting point for reimagining how humans and AI collaborate.”
Blackbird partner Michael Tolo said they’d tried almost every AI tool available and recognise the problem when it comes to productivity.
“While they make first drafts faster, they actually slow down the most important work: uncovering key insights and communicating them clearly to improve decision-making,” he said
“Enhance Labs built what’s actually needed: a way to capture your best ideas in the moment and refine them with nuanced context. Now, it’s where I do all my highest value thinking.”
