The latest round of the NSW Government’s EV fleets incentive program has opened with $5 million in co-funding up for grabs for businesses and organisations making the shift to electric vehicles.
The provides support for the purchase or lease of up to 15 battery EVs (BEVs) and the installation of smart charging infrastructure. The latest round also includes eligibility for heavy vehicles up to 23 tonnes of gross vehicle mass for the first time.
Eligible vehicles and incentives for this round include:
- $5,000 for passenger vehicles, SUVs with RRP of $40,000 or more
- $5,000 to $8,000 for light commercial vehicles between 2.5t and 3.5t
- $10,000 to $50,000 for heavy commercial vehicles between 3.5t – 23t
- 50 per cent of costs per charger port installed, up to $60,000 depending on the charger and vehicle type.
This round of funding is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, making it a non-competitive option for eligible organisations, available until May 2026 or until the funding is exhausted.

Deptartment of climate change and energy director of transport electrification Terry Niemeier said extending these incentives to heavy vehicles means businesses can make deep, impactful cuts to their transport emissions.
“By making the switch to electric vehicles more accessible and cost-effective, we’re not only improving air quality but also driving economic growth and innovation in the transportation sector,” he said.
“Businesses taking advantage of this funding can reduce their carbon footprint, lower operational costs, and demonstrate a commitment to sustainability which is a win-win.”
