Jongkil Jay Jeong

Dr. Jongkil Jay Jeong is a Senior Fellow in the School of Computing and Information System, University of Melbourne. He also serves as the Managing Director at cybersecurity research company TNK.

His current research focuses on the human-centric aspects of cyber security such as:

- Adoption of next-generation authentication and identity technologies.
- Quantification of human-centric cyber risk and its impact on cyber insurance.
- Enhancing Cyber Security Education Training & Awareness (SETA) programs.
- Developing Cyber security maturity building for nations.

Prior to his current role, he was a CyberCRC Senior Research Fellow at Deakin University, and also a Research Fellow at Monash University, investigating how a nations cybersecurity capability is influenced by socio-cultural factors. This research was undertaken in conjunction with the Oceania Cyber Security Centre (OCSC) and Oxford University.

On top of his academic positions, Jay also has extensive industry experience serving as the the Managing Director of Elegant Minds - a digital advisory company, and as the head of the Webasia Initiative at Melbourne IT where he was responsible for orchestrating a strategic partnership agreement with Alibaba.
