Timothy Minchin

Timothy Minchin is Professor of North American history at La Trobe University. He has published widely on twentieth-century U.S. history, including works on civil rights, labor history, and deindustrialisation. His most recent book is the award-winning America's Other Automakers: A History of the Foreign-Owned Automotive Sector in the United States (2021). Tim received his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge in 1996. He moved to Australia in 2004 and became a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities in 2009. He is currently working on a broader history of the car industry in the U.S.
