Brisbane patient experience software provider Five Faces, has raised $1 million in a Series A.
The round was led by Utiliti Group, with support from Queensland Government initiative, the Female Founders Co-Investment Fund.
It’s the first external round for Alphalitica (trading as Five Faces), which will use the capital to develop new digital health solutions and expand in Australia and internationally.
CEO Nicole Nixon said Five Faces gives hospitals and health providers the ability to digitise the patient experience.
“Patients today expect a digital-first approach across all hospital touchpoints. But they are still faced with phone calls, paper forms, long queues and long waits in crowded waiting rooms,” she said.
“Due to the complexity in the health system, the industry has often lagged when it comes to digitisation. Patients are consumers first. If they can use their mobile to check into a flight, they expect the same to check into a hospital appointment.”
Nixon cofounded Alphalitica in 2019 with CTO Abdul Alabri, who transformed the company from its origins in digital signage to a leading patient experience software provider. They launched the low-code tech solution in 2024 to overcomes typical barriers to digitisation with modular, configurable solutions for hospitals to reduce administration times.
Nixon was recently named Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2025 ARN Women in ICT Awards.
Five Faces is now being used by the Sydney Local Health District, Alfred Health, New Dunedin Hospital and others.
Five Faces and Sydney Local Health District received the NSW Government Premier’s Award for the Mass Vaccination solution for ‘Putting the Customer at the Centre’ in 2021 during the Covid pandemic.
Utiliti managing partner, Jason Serda, said the investment followed year-on-year revenue growth of +32% in 2024
“We are excited to be investing in Five Faces at a time of growth for the business and innovation in the healthcare sector,” he said.
“Utiliti and its investors were very impressed with the technology, recent traction, as well as the team and look forward to actively supporting Five Faces to scale globally.”
Queensland minister for science and innovation Andrew Powell said it’s exciting to see Five Faces make a difference in health with government mentoring and advocacy support.
“The Female Founders Co-Investment Fund is about providing women entrepreneurs with the tools to scale-up their business, expand into more markets and attract investors,” he said.
“It makes me incredibly proud to see this Queensland-based woman-led company go from strength to strength thanks to their ingenuity and our backing.”
