Round three of the South Australia Space Collaboration and Innovation Fund will open next Tuesday, September 23, with two projects awarded up to $150,000 each
This round is focused on real-world applications of space-derived data to solve pressing challenges on Earth.
Funding will support innovative projects that demonstrate clear commercial potential in areas such as:
- Terrestrial resources – for example, enhancing operations in the mining industry • Agriculture – for example, improving crop yield and productivity
- Emergency services – for example, bushfire detection and monitoring
- Health – for example, improving rural health outcomes or developing pharmaceuticals in space
To be eligible, projects must be led by a South Australian-based SME or startup, and may include collaborative partnerships with other organisations.
South Australian Space Industry Centre CEO Matt Opie said the Fund is a key part of growing the state’s space capabilities.
“This round is about harnessing the power of space data to deliver tangible benefits for people, industries and communities here on Earth,” he said.
“We’re looking for bold, commercially focused ideas that can help cement South Australia’s position as a leader in space-enabled innovation.”
An information session will be held on September 23. See here for details.
Round three applications close on Sunday, November 2 at 11:59pm ACDT. For more information, to register for the info session, and to apply, see the SASIC website.
